A guide to our quotes:

By utilizing the efficiencies of technology we can save you a lot of time getting a quote. However that comes with certain side effects. This page aims to quickly and easily remedy those side effects.

Basic fence style:

AKA “dog ear” or “flat top”. If you just want the most affordable fence, then the most common cedar privacy fence is this. We tend to opt for dog ear pickets on this because it smooths the appearance of grade change. We will do a flat top picket if you like, just be sure to specify that.

Upgrades to the Basic fence style

The most common upgrades to any fence is going to be the steel post and the middle rail. both upgrades are displayed in this example here:

upgrades to any fence is going to be the steel post and the middle rail

Steel posts will outlast us, at least most of us, maybe all of us… Compare that to pressure-treated fence posts that can last 10-20 years or more but also can fail as soon as within 2 years. It’s surprisingly common! We replace fence posts, so we see it all. The pressure-treated timeline is vast and very unpredictable.

Often a quote will be the basic and include these upgrades as line items that can be added to your project. We want to offer these because they have such a large return on your investment. The fence without the upgrades is great, but these two options are going to extend the life of your new fence incredibly, especially the steel posts!

The other common option:

Cap top with fascia

The most obvious difference between this fence and our basic fence is the top detail. The top cap and fascia are a nice touch but there isn’t a lot of evidence of increased integrity. The exceptions to this would be that the top cap ties multiple panels together in some cases and can even withstand some impacts like falling tree branches etc.

Cap top upgrades:

As you can see, the same upgrades are available for most any fence style including this one. They bring the exact same benefits here as they do to the above fence.

A lot of our estimates are done in “fast and free email” form. These are commonly perfectly accurate. If anything feels arbitrary or uncertain on my end I will address this. I will either come out and verify the details that I need, or the estimate will say right on it that the numbers are estimations and may need fine tuning. We will never start a project without clear agreement.
